Discipleship & Bible Study Training: We continue our Sabbath afternoon study today at 4:00 p.m. for one hour. This seminar is on learning and understanding Scriptures, as well as gaining a notebook full of Scriptures and passages on various topics. Kindly let the church office know if you are coming so that we can get materials ready for you. All are welcome to join, even if they have not registered, but registration just makes planning easier. Pastor Throstur is the primary teacher.

Midweek Bible Study: We will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. for the next several weeks. The topic for the next several weeks is the letters of Paul.

Join Pathfnders!: Pathfinder registration (for ages 10 to 15) is on Sunday, October 20 at 9:00 a.m. at South Bend Junior Academy. Come for breakfast and our first meeting. For questions, contact Megan Brown at or Brenna Hayes

ACF Retreat: James Black will be our keynote speaker at this year’s Adventist Christian Fellowship Public Campus Ministry Retreat at Timberridge Camp. It will be held Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27 and the cost is only $35. Our ACF is sponsoring those students that don’t have a job so they can go. If you know any students grades 11-12, and college students, who would love a refreshing revival weekend, please let them know. We would like to see students register by this Friday, October 18 to get our kitchen staff ready. Here is the link to our registration portal:

International Food Fair: SBJA’s annual food fair is 1-4 PM on Sunday, November 17. If you’d like to host a vegetarian food booth, please contact the school at (574) 287-3713.

Free Vegetarian Thanksgiving Dinner: Thanksgiving Day/November 28. Time: 1-3 PM at First Seventh-day Adventist Church school gymnasium, 1910 Altgeld St., South Bend. Games, crafts, & puzzles. Worship: Michiana Initiative is planning a Sabbath Celebration and joint worship service at the Century Center from 5-7 PM on both November 23, 2019 and February 29, 2020.

New Security Codes! Please notice that we are installing a new security system in the church and school. The old system is gone and new codes are being installed. Next week they will be active, so make sure you get in contact with the church office before entering the building next week, or alarms will go off!

What’s new at SBJA? In our day we start by doing journals. Sometimes we get to do funny journals. We get to make taco trucks. We get to do math and we also get to do MobyMax which helps us with math. Sometimes we have picnics for lunch and if we get our work done we get free time.  –Noor, 5th grade
