Church Directory: During the month of October we are taking photos and updating contact information for the church directory. Please stop by the coat rack area between Sabbath School and church, or after church service.

Quick Work Bee: We need several hands to help put up the edge for the drop-ceiling in the Sabbath School hallway. Please bring an impact drill with 5/16” socket and a step-ladder. We will work this Sunday morning, October 14, from 8:30-10:00 a.m. The more hands, the quicker to finish.

Pathfinders: There is a meeting on Sunday, October 21, at 9:00 a.m. for all interested in Pathfinders Club and the Oshkosh Camporee. We will meet either at the church or SBJA; just look for Pastor Thordarson after you arrive.

Adventist Retirees of Michiana: Meeting date change—normally our ARM meeting takes place on the second Sunday of each month, but for the month of October ONLY, the meeting will be on the third Sunday, October 21, at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church at 1:00 p m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Art Robertson. He will be sharing some fabulous photos of the heavens. Bring a dish to share at potluck and plan for an afternoon of good food, good fellowship, and a beautiful look at the heavens through the eyes of one of our local astronomers. Remember you don't have to be retired to join us, you just need to be 55ish or above. For more information contact David Waller at or (269) 409-1020.

Disc Golf Challenge: The Viking Disc Golf Challenge has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 4. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. Registration is $30. Each player receives three golf discs and some other cool stuff. You can register for the event on our church website at

SBJA International Food Fair: We are looking for booths for the food fair. This year it is on Sunday, November 11. If you are interested in participating, please contact the school office at (574) 287-3713.

Visitor’s Meal: Each Sabbath, we provide a meal for our visitors and out-of-town guests, and we welcome our members from afar, those living alone, and our youth. We are happy to see more members wanting to stay but this is causing a slight problem, and we are asking our members who wish to stay for the visitor’s meal to bring food so there is plenty of food for everyone. You can also check with the church office to see what can be contributed to the menu that has been planned for the week.

Snow Removal: The church is looking for someone to clear snow and ice from the church and school sidewalks during the winter. The church will provide the equipment and materials for the job. This is a paid position. If you are interested, please contact the church office.

SBJA Openings: Are you looking for a great Christian education for your child? Consider South Bend Jr. Academy. There are still some openings in grades K-8. Contact the school office at (574) 287-3713 or e-mail

Special Kindergarten Rates: Don’t let finances keep you from experiencing a great education! Your South Bend Junior Academy offers Kindergarten tuition at only $300 for members, $333 for non-members. SBJA also accepts Indiana state vouchers, which enable many families to attend for free or greatly reduced prices. Please contact the school to see how affordable it really is! (574) 287-3713.
